Tempering treatment: The heat treatment method of high temperature tempering after quenching is called tempering treatment.

Quenching of steel: It is the heat treatment process of heating steel to a certain temperature of Ac3 or Ac1, maintaining a certain time, and then cooling at an appropriate speed to obtain martensite and/or bainite structure called quenching.

Tempering of steel: It is a process in which the workpiece is hardened, then heated to a certain temperature below Ac1, held for a certain time, and then cooled to room temperature. Its purpose is to adjust the strength, hardness, plasticity, toughness and red hardness of the workpiece mechanical properties, reduce or eliminate quenching stress, avoid deformation, cracking, maintain the size stability in the process of application.

Normalizing of steel: refers to the heat treatment process of steel or steel parts heated to 30~50℃ above Ac3(hypoeutectoid steel) or Acm(hypoeutectoid steel), after holding heat for an appropriate time, cooling in the still air. The normalizing of steel heated to 100~150℃ above Ac3 is called high temperature normalizing.

Annealing of steel: refers to the heat treatment process in which steel or steel parts are heated to an appropriate temperature, held for a certain time, and then cooled slowly.

Advantages: can eliminate the internal stress, change the crystal structure, improve and eliminate the unstable factors, make the heat treatment processing products more stable and durable.

Application: improve the surface hardness of steel, wear resistance, fatigue strength, hard core toughness
